Live, Love, Learn, Pray
Live - At our school we aim to 'live' life to its fullest. We have a wide range of opportunities available, from learning how to knit to learning how to build a safe fire. We have regular specialists who take classes for a term in areas such as music, forest school skills and sports. We also have a wide range of lunchtime clubs and afterschool clubs available throughout the year. In addition to this we go on amazing school trips including a residential in Class 3 and a trip to Barcelona in Class 4! (more information can be found on this website in Curriculum and Extra Curricular Activities).
Love - Our school is like a family. We care for each other and the wider community. We love to make links with local groups and charities for instance we are going to be making Christmas cards for a local care home, We also support lots of charities worldwide and each class is responsible for helping their chosen charity and bringing about change.
Learn - We enjoy learning a wide range of subject and skills. We follow Lancashire's Curriculum where we learn through a topic. We relate our learning to personal experiences and our interests to make it more meaningful and interesting. We enjoy many theme days and weeks throughout the year such as World Book Day, Anti-bullying Week and Experience Christmas. (more information can be found on this website in Curriculum).
Pray - Prayer is an important part of our school life. We pray at lunchtime and at the end of the day during collective worship. We also have time to reflect in our class reflection areas. Every half-term we also have 'Prayer breakfast' in school. Prayer is important to use because it gives us the opportunity to reflect and say thanks. Furthermore, it gives us the opportunity to think about our 5 core christian school values.
Our Motto is based on the Chrisitan Gospel:
Live- Ephesians 5:15-16 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity,
Love- John 1 3:11 The message you heard from the very beginning is this: we must love one another.
Learn - Philippians 4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Pray -Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
